Lufthansa Technik Sofia is the lastest technological and operative level of development of Lufthansa Technik Group. The vast experience of all maintenance bases of Lufthansa Technik was implemented in the development of the new facility.
Lufthansa Technik Sofia was established in late 2007 as a joint venture between Lufthansa Tehnik Group (75.1%) and Bulgarian Airways Group (24.9%). Starting Lufthansa Technik Sofia, Lufthansa Technik Group founded the fifth highly competitive facility in Europe for base and line maintenance of narrowbody aircraft.
Situated in Southeastern Europe, the geographical location of the facility in Bulgaria is perfect for servicing customers from the Middle East and North Africa. Moreover, the location provides a good basis for competitive prices.
Currently, four bays operate. In the end of December 2011, for the company work nearly 500 employees, trained in Bulgaria and other facilities of Lufthansa Technik.
